Hytale Magazine — Content Policy

Version 2026.08 · effective 2026-08-01

Effective Date: 1 August 2026

This Content Policy explains what you can and cannot post on Hytale Magazine. It covers the community feed, user profiles, and any content submitted through the Service.

For rules about how you treat other people (harassment, threats, impersonation), see our Community Guidelines. This document is about the content itself.

1. What We Welcome

Hytale Magazine exists for fans to share their love of Hytale. We encourage:

Screenshots from the game, including your builds and world exploration.

Fan art: original illustrations, pixel art, 3D renders, and other creative work inspired by Hytale.

Guides and tutorials: gameplay tips, building techniques, lore explainers.

News coverage and commentary: translations, summaries, and opinions about official Hytale announcements. Always link to the original source when covering news.

Discussion posts: thoughts, theories, and questions about the game.

2. Other People's Work

This is the most important section of this policy. Fan communities thrive on sharing, but sharing someone else's work without permission or credit is not sharing. It is theft. Here is how we handle it.

2.1 Fan Art by Other Creators

You may not repost another creator's fan art, illustration, render, or other original work unless:

(a) you have explicit permission from the original creator, and

(b) you clearly credit them in your post (name or handle, plus a link to the original if available).

"I found it on Twitter" or "credit to the artist" without identifying the artist is not sufficient. If you cannot identify or contact the creator, do not post their work.

2.2 Screenshots of Other People's Builds and Servers

If you share a screenshot featuring another player's build or a third-party server, credit the builder or server by name. If the server or builder has sharing guidelines, follow them.

2.3 AI-Generated Content

AI-generated or AI-assisted content (images, text) is permitted only if clearly labeled.

Use the tag [AI-Generated] if the content was created primarily by an AI tool (e.g., an AI image generator).

Use the tag [AI-Assisted] if you used AI as part of your creative process but the work is substantially your own (e.g., AI-assisted background in a hand-drawn piece).

Place the tag in the post body or title, not buried in a comment.

Presenting AI-generated content as your own original work without labeling is a violation. It is treated the same as misattribution (see Section 2.1).

We require labeling because this community values original creative effort. AI tools can produce impressive results, but readers deserve to know what they are looking at.

2.4 Official Hypixel Studios Materials

Hytale Magazine is an independent fan project (see our Fan Disclaimer). We use official Hypixel Studios materials, including screenshots, trailers, artwork, and logos, for the purpose of news reporting, commentary, and community discussion about the game.

When posting official materials:

Always identify the source (e.g., "Image: Hypixel Studios, from the Hytale blog post dated 3 June 2025").

Do not modify official art in ways that misrepresent the game or Hypixel Studios.

Do not claim official materials as your own work.

If Hypixel Studios contacts us regarding the use of their materials, we will comply with their request. Our use of their intellectual property is made in good faith as a fan publication and does not imply any affiliation or endorsement.

3. Mature and Explicit Content (NSFW)

Hytale Magazine is an all-ages platform. No mature or explicit content is permitted. Period.

This is not a soft guideline. A significant portion of our audience is under 18. We do not have age-gating, content filters, or separate sections for adult content, and we are not building them. The entire Service is safe-for-work.

Prohibited content includes:

Sexually explicit or suggestive images or text, whether depicting real people, fictional characters, or AI-generated figures.

Graphic depictions of violence, gore, or bodily harm beyond what appears in normal Hytale gameplay.

Content depicting or promoting drug use, self-harm, or dangerous challenges.

Content depicting Hytale combat, in-game creatures, and similar gameplay elements is fine. Use common sense: if you would not show it to a 16-year-old, do not post it here.

Content that sexualizes minors is handled under Section 1.4 of our Community Guidelines (immediate permanent ban, no appeal, reported to authorities).

4. Advertising, Self-Promotion, and External Links

There is no advertising on Hytale Magazine. We do not run ads, and users may not post them.

Self-promotion is allowed within limits:

You may link to your own Hytale-related projects (YouTube channel, Discord server, Hytale server, portfolio) if your post includes original content beyond the link itself. A post that is only a link with "check out my server" is spam.

Keep self-promotion to a reasonable frequency. Posting the same link repeatedly across multiple posts is spam regardless of surrounding content.

Links to non-Hytale projects (other games, general portfolios) are allowed if they are relevant to the post and accompanied by substantive content. A post that is only a link to an unrelated project is spam.

Not allowed:

Commercial advertisements of any kind.

Affiliate links, referral codes, or paid promotions.

Giveaway posts that require following external accounts, joining servers, or performing tasks outside the Service (these are typically engagement-farming schemes).

5. Misinformation About Hytale

As a fan magazine, our credibility depends on accuracy. Do not:

Present rumors, speculation, or leaks as confirmed facts. You may discuss rumors, but label them clearly ("unconfirmed," "rumor," "speculation").

Fabricate fake announcements, release dates, or feature reveals. Even as jokes, fake announcements spread and confuse the community.

Post leaked or datamined content that Hypixel Studios has not made public. Leaked game assets and code are prohibited. Discussion of publicly circulating rumors is allowed with clear labeling ("unconfirmed," "leaked," "rumor").

If you are covering news, link to the original source. If the source is another fan site or social media post, say so. Do not present secondhand reporting as original news.

6. What Happens When Content Violates This Policy

If your content violates this policy:

The content may be removed or hidden without prior notice.

You will be notified of what was removed and which rule it violated.

Enforcement measures from our Community Guidelines may be applied: warning, mute, cooldown, suspension, or ban, depending on severity and history. See the Community Guidelines, Section 4, for details.

Verification applications may be denied if the applicant's posting history shows policy violations.

Repeat copyright violations are handled under our Copyright Policy, which includes a repeat infringer policy.

7. Copyright Claims

If you believe your copyrighted work has been posted on Hytale Magazine without authorization, or if you have received a copyright notice and believe it was sent in error, see our Copyright Policy at hytalemagazine.com/legal/copyright for the full procedure, including how to submit a notice and a counter-notice.
